Lonnie Nettles White

Vice President of Family Compass
BS in Criminal Justice Administration, & Certified Mentor Coach

As a graduate of the Police Academy, serving and protecting is innate in Lonnie. So, it’s no surprise that Lonnie’s purpose in life is to serve, nurture, protect, and love.

With a passion of working toward justice for others, Lonnie is a gift to Family Compass. She has a burning desire to work with and for people. She is curious about people’s stories and works to bring about productive outcomes in their lives. Lonnie is insightful, intuitive, and theatrical. With her gift for public speaking and her ability to connect with others, she is one of the strongest advocates families can ask for.

When she sees injustice, it spurs her to action. In June 2020, she encountered a young homeless family—struggling during the pandemic and a state of racial divide. She experienced firsthand the systemic racism that kept this family from accessing basic human needs like housing and employment. This drove Lonnie to act, and now—as a founding member of this program—Family Compass is her stage.

One of her earliest memories is feeling proud and responsible for her younger sibling. To this day, being a mother gives her a feeling of pride. Lonnie’s mother, who knew her best in all the world, would always describe her as kind, forgiving, beautiful, tough—and a fighter. Her fight continues to this day, for everyone who knows her and for the families of Family Compass.
