Gina Staros

Communications Director at Family Compass
Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy, Westmont College

If gratitude leads to joy, then it makes sense why Gina’s warm, genuine smile greets everyone she meets. Her friends have described her as a ray of sunshine—someone who reflects the brightness of her heart. Her gratitude journal will attest that she feels thankful for her two amazing children who teach her every day and her supportive husband who consistently offers a new lens on life.

But there are inevitably moments you don’t feel grateful for. In one of Gina’s early memories, her teacher shared her writing assignment in front of the class. Gina felt startled, shy, and anxious. The teacher used Gina’s sentences as a teaching opportunity for others in her class. This may have been the moment that Gina realized her talent with words. As far back as she can remember, she wanted to be a writer—to craft sentences that make an impact. To do good in the world.

Gina has a fierce passion to support those who have been consistently unsupported by larger society. She is driven to help those in need—especially those who have been failed by the system.

With a gift for words and a heart for people, Gina brings significant talent to her Family Compass role. Her words can drive action and find solutions that help, support, and save families from deprivation. Let Gina work her magic and she will spread love, joy, and even a little gratitude.
